Children's Hospital Foundation Celebrates $5 Million Campaign
Tuesday, April 10, 2012 - Campus News -
Due to a larger-than-life, spirited community of Oklahomans, Children's Hospital Foundation completed a $5 million campaign in a record-shattering 42 months to uphold the highest level of care possible for Oklahoma's children. CHF supporters quickly realized that as the health care needs for Oklahoma's children increase, so too does our need for additional resources. In June 2008, during a time when the country and medical industry faced steep economic challenges, CHF embarked on a transformational journey to strengthen longstanding relationships and build new ones to raise the bar for pediatric research, education and clinical care.
This aggressive fundraising goal successfully completed five Endowed Research Chairs in genetics, cancer, diabetes and gastroenterology. The establishment of these Endowed Chairs ensures that in addition to providing outstanding care for Oklahoma's children today, we can look forward to an even better future.
"It's about believing we can deal with challenges, whatever it takes, including constantly improving our practices and processes, pursuing new sectors and assuring loyalty to our donors," said Kathy McCracken, Executive Director of Children's Hospital Foundation. "There is no better cause than caring for our children, the future of Oklahoma."
Without the support of our loyal donors and partners, life-saving work could not continue for children in Oklahoma and beyond. Gifts came in all sizes, from less than $1 to more than $100,000, to benefit the future of Oklahoma. A Mission Accomplished event will be held on April 13 for the CHF Board of Directors at the new Iguana Café in Nichols Hills Plaza.
Children's Hospital Foundation helps to fund pediatric research, education and clinical care, ultimately supporting The Children's Hospital in serving every county in Oklahoma with more than 134,000 annual patient visits. All funds raised through Children's Hospital Foundation stay in Oklahoma so children will have access to exceptional pediatric specialists without having to leave the state. Despite dedicated and steady progress, there are still obstacles in the quest to combat pediatric illness and disability.
This is an achievement to celebrate and a reminder of the new, exciting road ahead of us. To continue to support Children's Hospital Foundation, visit www.okchf.org
