OU Medicine Edmond Announces New Visiting Hours for Designated Caregivers

Effective Thursday, September 4, OU Medical Center Edmond updated its visiting hours for essential/designated caregivers. New visiting hours for inpatients are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Only one designated caregiver is allowed per stay, and any requests for overnight or longer stays must be approved in advance by hospital administration.

An essential caregiver/patient representative is defined as a:

* Person who is legally authorized to make decisions for the patient
* Personal care assistant for an individual with disabilities
* Disability service provider

As before, visitors will not be allowed for patients in clinic, ambulatory, procedural and outpatient areas or the inpatient geriatric behavioral health unit. Visitor screening remains the same.
