Stop the Spread: Holiday Travel Guidance

Published: Friday, April 10, 2020

Dear Health Sciences Center Colleagues,

The next few weekends and weeks include holidays that many in our workforce and community, under pre-COVID circumstances, would typically celebrate with friends and family at home or away.

On April 10, the Oklahoma City-County Health Department (OCCHD) issued a domestic travel advisory, urging residents in Oklahoma County to refrain from non-essential domestic travel due to coronavirus concerns. The OCCHD urges Oklahomans to remain vigilant about staying at home and limiting contact with others, in order to assist with decreasing the spread of COVID-19 in our state.

Dr. Patrick McGough, D.N.P, executive director of the Oklahoma City-County Health Department stated,  “I urge us all to continue practicing physical distancing this weekend by staying home as much as possible, and only going out for essential needs.”

For additional information on COVID-19, I have also included the OUHSC COVID-19 Resources Page.

Thank you for your assistance in fighting COVID and helping our community to stop the spread.

Sincerely,

Jason R. Sanders, MD, MBA
Senior Vice President and Provost
