Published: Wednesday, April 1, 2020
As a University employee, we want you to be informed about H.R. 6201, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. This new law is effective April 1, 2020. These regulations provide support for employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Act provides paid Emergency Family Leave in limited circumstances, as well as Paid Sick Leave for people affected by COVID-19. We encourage you to read the attached poster provided by the federal Department of Labor. The poster is also available at this link: https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/WHD/posters/FFCRA_Poster_WH1422_Non-Federal.pdf. If you are a supervisor who is on-site, please print this poster and display it prominently in a common employee area.
The University is working quickly to comply with this legislation. Human Resources will provide additional information about new processes and procedures on our website as soon as information is available. Please check back often.
