Air Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Society for Glycobiology

Gillian Air, Ph.D., associate dean of the Graduate College and interim chair of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Air received the 2017 Rosalind Kornfeld Award for Lifetime Achievement in Glycobiology. The Society for Glycobiology presents the award to scientists who have made significant contributions with an important impact on the field over their professional lifetimes.

In addition to her leadership positions at the OU Health Sciences Center, Air is a noted investigator whose molecular studies of the influenza virus have had important ramifications nationwide. She has been a faculty member at the OU College of Medicine since 1996 and holds the title of George Lynn Cross Research Professor.
