Genetics Specialist Joins OU Children’s Physicians

Geneticist Hua Wang, M.D., Ph.D., has established her practice with OU Children’s Physicians. She has also been named a clinical assistant professor with the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. 

A medical geneticist is a physician who diagnoses and treats people with suspected or proven hereditary conditions. Wang completed a medical genetics residency at the OU College of Medicine. During this program, she won a national award from the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics for her genetic research on a lysosomal storage disorder with prominent skeletal dysplasia. 

She completed a general surgery residency in the Brooklyn Hospital Center, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, and a clinical nutrition fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston. 

She completed internal medicine residency and a fellowship in endocrinology in China where she earned her medical degree. 

Wang is a member of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics and the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.
